Bax & Willems continued growth in 2009, albeit at a slower pace
Since 2002 when B&W opened its doors in Barcelona, the office has grown at an annual rate of some 25-30% per year. Of course, like everybody else, we were hard hit by the 2009 crisis, which put pressure on our clients' budgets for exploring longer-term business opportunities.
Nevertheless, we managed to close the books of 2009 with a small single digit growth in turnover compared to 2008, that was due especially to business picking up in the last quarter of the year. Some consultants did leave the company in 2009; one to ride out the crisis years enjoying a well deserved sabbatical, another to attend to personal circumstances, and two others tempted by new carreer opportunities. Still the majority of our great team stayed on, and in March we welcomed two new colleagues: Fran Periales and Rosa Sitja.
We choose also to reflect the rejuvenation of our team and our company by re-modelling part of our office, which now boasts an attractive 'lounge', a space that facilitates anything from out-of-the-box brainstorming to careful reflection.
